Colours of Gray

I was driving a few days ago and as usual was stuck in traffic congestion. The sky overhead was rather dull and gray, portents of an oncoming thunderstorm (it did come about 15 minutes later). I glanced up at the sky to witness a small circle of colours amidst the gray clouds. We have an old saying in English, 'There's a silver lining behind every dark cloud.' Perhaps, there is a circle of colours among every gray cloud. in the dullness of life, God is often that circle of gray. However, to see it we have to look up. That upward glance makes all the difference. I knew at that moment that the thunderstorm would come, but also that it would pass. As precise as clockwork, it did and the sun came crashing though those clouds again. As a silver lining or a circle of colours, God's light will crash through the dark clouds again and again. There is no holding back the light of God forever.
