Extraordinary Ordinary!

In about 3 hours of writing this, we shall usher in a New Year, 2019. There is nothing dramatic about this number unlike some previous years. No Y2K syndrome to fear. No Nostradamus prophecy to excite. No Mayan Calendar to contend with. Just another year; nothing special. Or is it? Most of what makes life worth living is not the extraordinary but the ordinary, the mundane, the predictable. Maybe we cannot predict what will happen in 2019. What we can do is turn the ordinary into something extraordinary. Consider the picture in the inset. This is neither a sunrise nor a sunset. It is man-made light with a touch of photographic technique. God supplies raw materials and creativity; we go about creating. Therefore, have a blessed New Year, 2019, and may your ordinary become extraordinary!
