Unusual! Not Unheard of!

Two days ago I woke up around 4 am to the deafening roll of thunder and heavy clatter of rainfall on the roof. The thunderstorm lasted for about 3 hours, messing up driving conditions all around Bangkok with flash floods in some areas. It is rather unusual to have such thundershowers in January, but not entirely unheard of.

This is also true about life and faith; especially faith. Whenever something challenging happens to us, we all revert to the human instinct of imagining that the experience is unique to our situation. Such is never the case. Truth be told, whatever happens to us is an experience shared with others. In a manner of speaking, unusual, yes, but not unheard of.

Somehow I find this thought comforting and pray you will too.
